The Tein RX1 (VSSB0-M1SS4) is a full coilover kit for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI, built around Tein's Hydraulic Bump Stopper technology - a system originally developed for and proven in World Rally Championship and European Rally Championship competition. Conventional bump stops use urethane or rubber that compresses abruptly when the suspension fully travels, creating a sharp, jarring impact that unsettles the chassis and disturbs driver feel. The H.B.S. replaces this with a hydraulic unit that progressively absorbs the final stage of suspension travel, delivering a smooth, controlled bottoming response that maintains composure over large impacts at speed.

The RX1's twin-tube damper construction provides a balance of ride compliance and handling precision, and 16-stage damping adjustment allows the suspension to be tuned across a wide range of use cases - from a comfortable road setup to a sharper track configuration. Full-length ride height adjustment and camber-adjustable front lower brackets give alignment flexibility for a wide range of lowering heights, and the kit is compatible with Tein's EDFC system for in-cabin electronic damping adjustment.
