Product Description

The Synergy Manufacturing 8012-03 is a pair of front lower control arm skid plates for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU, compatible with both the Dana 30 (non-Rubicon) and Dana 44 (Rubicon) front axle configurations. On the JK/JKU platform, the lower control arm mounts on the front axle are exposed and vulnerable to rock strikes during off-road use, particularly when running larger tires and aggressive trail lines. A direct hit can bend or crack the control arm mount, compromising the suspension geometry and potentially leaving the vehicle disabled on the trail. Synergy's skid plates weld onto the existing mount to add a protective 3-sided steel cap over the most exposed sections, providing meaningful resistance to glancing and direct rock impacts.

The plates are laser cut for dimensional accuracy and CNC bent into their 3-sided profile, which delivers significantly more rigidity than a flat plate in both the vertical and lateral planes where trail impacts are most likely to load the mount. Material is 3/16" high-strength carbon steel, consistent with Synergy's other axle and suspension hardware. The bare metal finish means painting or applying a rust inhibitor after welding is recommended for long-term corrosion protection in wet or salty environments. These skid plates are also included as part of the Synergy Front Axle Assurance Kit (8012-50-30), which bundles them with inner axle sleeves, inner C gussets, and inner axle seals for a comprehensive front axle protection upgrade. Professional welding is required for installation.
