The Superwinch SX12 (1712200) is a 12,000 lb. rated 12V electric winch designed for truck, SUV, and off-road vehicle recovery applications where a high-capacity, feature-rich winch is required. Built on the SX Series platform, the SX12 differentiates itself with several class-leading innovations including a patented IP68-rated drum light that illuminates the rope during nighttime recoveries, a relocatable die-cast aluminium control box for installation flexibility in tight bumper configurations, and a lighted 12 ft. wired remote with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion flashlight - eliminating the need to carry a separate light when hooking up to an anchor in the dark.

The winch is powered by a 6.0 HP sealed series-wound motor driving through a 3-stage planetary gearset at a 231:1 ratio, delivering smooth, high-torque pulling across the full load range. The 100% automatic mechanical brake holds the load at any point in the pull without relying on the motor or solenoid to stay engaged - important for safe rigging and load control.
