Vehicle Fitment

  • 2003-2012 Audi A3 MK2 (8P1 - 2WD)

Fitment Notes

  • Compatible with steel hub assemblies only. Does not fit aluminum/alloy hub variants.
  • Front wheel alignment is required after installation.
  • The repositioned ball joint sits closer to the brake rotor than stock - verify clearance before fitting with any aftermarket big brake kit. Some popular "parts bin" kits using Porsche or other OEM take-off rotors are not compatible with the TRC0003.
  • SuperPro has tested and confirmed compatibility across all standard VW OEM brake configurations and many popular aftermarket brake kits. If in doubt, confirm brake rotor positioning before purchase.
  • Fits both FWD and AWD (Quattro/4Motion/4x4) variants across all listed platforms.
  • Does not include tie rod ends. Ball joints only.

Features

  • Camber-adjustable ball joint design with slotted base plates allows independent fine-tuning of front camber on each side - adding over 0.5° of negative camber adjustment per side at stock ride height, independently of subframe positioning.
  • Corrects front roll center geometry on lowered MK5/MK6 platform vehicles, raising the roll center back toward its designed position to increase front roll resistance and reduce outside front wheel compression during cornering.
  • Provides additional camber adjustment range beyond what is achievable through subframe relocation alone - essential on cars using subframe locking kits where subframe shifting is not possible.
  • Revised ball joint dimensions and positioning reduce bump steer, improving straight-line stability and steering precision on lowered vehicles.
  • Even small amounts of additional negative camber improve initial turn-in response and sustained cornering grip on MK5 and MK6 platform cars.
  • Heavy-duty construction with superior abrasion resistance and temperature tolerance compared to OEM rubber-isolated ball joints.
  • Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Australia using SuperPro's fully in-house process.
  • Covered by SuperPro's 3-year warranty on all Roll Control metal components.

Product Description

The SuperPro TRC0003 is a front lower ball joint kit engineered for MK5 and MK6 Volkswagen and PQ35/A5 platform Audi, SEAT, and Skoda vehicles. It addresses two geometry problems that arise when these cars are lowered: an insufficient front camber range and a compromised front roll center. The MK5/MK6 front suspension architecture provides very limited factory camber adjustment - typically achievable only through subframe shifting - and the stock setup does not allow independent side-to-side fine tuning. When these cars are also lowered, the front roll center drops, reducing the suspension's natural resistance to body roll and degrading cornering balance. The TRC0003 resolves both issues through a single component swap.

The key innovation is the slotted base plate built into each ball joint assembly. This slotted design allows the ball joint to be positioned independently on each side of the car, providing over 0.5° of negative camber adjustment per corner at stock ride height - and without moving the subframe. This makes the TRC0003 particularly valuable on cars running subframe locking kits where subframe shifting is no longer an option, as well as on cars that still cannot reach the desired camber target through subframe adjustment alone. The revised ball joint geometry also raises the front roll center compared to a standard lowered setup, bringing the suspension geometry closer to what the engineers originally designed and increasing front roll resistance without requiring stiffer springs or a heavier front sway bar. Additionally, the revised positioning reduces bump steer on lowered vehicles, improving steering linearity and straight-line stability.

The TRC0003 fits steel hub assemblies only and covers a wide range of VAG platform vehicles including the VW Golf MK5 and MK6 in all body styles and performance variants, Jetta MK5 and MK6, EOS, Scirocco, Tiguan, Touran, Caddy, the Audi A3/S3 8P, and corresponding SEAT and Skoda models sharing the same front suspension architecture. Because the repositioned ball joint sits closer to the brake rotor than the OEM unit, buyers should confirm clearance with any non-standard brake setup before ordering - particularly with large-diameter Porsche-based take-off rotor kits. A full front wheel alignment is required after installation. SuperPro covers all TRC Roll Control metal components under a 3-year warranty.
