Fitment Notes

• On the Porsche 996 and 997 (911), this endlink fits the front sway bar position only. For the 996/997 rear sway bar position, see SPL RE 996 (sold separately).
• On the 986 Boxster and 987 Boxster/Cayman, this endlink fits both the front and rear sway bar positions.
• On the 981 Boxster/Cayman and 982/718 Boxster/Cayman (including all GT4 and GT4 RS variants), this endlink fits the rear sway bar position only. For front fitment on 981/982/718, see SPL's dedicated 981/982/718 front endlink.
• If aftermarket shocks or coilovers have been installed, verify that the distance between the sway bar and the shock mount falls within this endlink's adjustment range before ordering, as aftermarket units may alter the mounting location.
• All fitments are rear-wheel drive only. No AWD or 4WD variants exist for any of these platforms.
• Sold as a pair (one left, one right). This is not a full kit - it replaces endlinks on one axle position per set.

The SPL Parts SPL FE 996 is a PRO-series adjustable sway bar endlink designed for a wide range of Porsche mid-engine and rear-engine sports cars spanning from the 986 Boxster through the current-generation 982/718 platform. At the core of this endlink's performance advantage is its 2-piece Teflon-lined FK 1/2" spherical bearing - a significantly larger bearing than what is found in most competing endlinks. This larger bearing dramatically increases the static radial load capacity, which matters most when pairing these endlinks with stiffer aftermarket sway bars, corner-weighted coilover setups, or high-grip tire compounds that amplify lateral forces. The heat-treated chromoly high misalignment studs provide up to 65 degrees of articulation, ensuring the endlink remains bind-free across the full suspension travel range and when positioned in different adjustment holes on multi-position aftermarket sway bars.

The length-adjustable black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum turnbuckle is one of the most practical features of this endlink. Factory endlinks are fixed-length, meaning any change in ride height, spring rate, or sway bar geometry will introduce preload into the bar - causing the sway bar to contribute different amounts of resistance to body roll depending on which direction the car is turning. The SPL FE 996 resolves this by allowing the driver to set the sway bar to a true horizontal position at the desired ride height, which maximizes the sway bar's effective travel range and ensures consistent, symmetric handling. Adjustment is done via opposing left-hand and right-hand threads on the turnbuckle, making length setting fast and precise without needing to remove the endlink from the vehicle.

On the 996 and 997, the SPL FE 996 fits the front sway bar position; on the 986 Boxster and 987 Boxster/Cayman, it fits both front and rear; and on the 981 and 982/718 (including all GT4 and GT4 RS variants), it serves the rear sway bar position.
