Fitment Notes

• This is the standard OEM-length version (SPL FE FRS), with an adjustment range of 9.15" (232mm) to 10.65" (271mm), measured between mounting points. It is recommended for builds using OEM front lower control arms and OEM front struts.
• Some aftermarket coilovers shift the upper strut mount position, which can cause interference between this endlink and aftermarket front lower control arms. For those setups, SPL offers the shorter version (SPL FES FRS), which adjusts between 7.40" (188mm) and 8.90" (226mm).
• All applicable platforms are rear-wheel drive only - no AWD variants exist for the ZN6, ZN8, ZC6, or ZD8 chassis.
• The Scion FR-S nameplate was used through the 2016 model year; the Toyota 86 name was used from 2017-2021 before becoming the GR86 (ZN8) for 2022 onward. All share the same front suspension architecture and this endlink fits all model years across both generations and both nameplates.
• Replaces OEM part number SU003-00394 (Toyota) and 20420-CA000 (Subaru).

Product Description

The SPL Parts SPL FE FRS is a PRO-series adjustable front sway bar endlink designed for the Toyota/Subaru FT86 platform across both generations - covering the Scion FR-S (2013-2016), Toyota 86 (2017-2021), Toyota GR86 (2022-2026), and Subaru BRZ (2013-2026) in all trims. The OEM front endlinks on these vehicles are fixed-length units that develop sway bar preload from spring settling, driver weight, ride height change, and corner weighting. This preload biases the sway bar away from its ideal horizontal angle, reducing the bar's effective travel range and creating unequal roll resistance between left- and right-hand corners - a characteristic that becomes more pronounced when stiffer aftermarket sway bars are installed. The SPL FE FRS resolves this with its black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum turnbuckle, which uses opposing left-hand and right-hand threads to enable on-car length adjustment. Set the endlink to the length needed to hold the sway bar perfectly horizontal at your ride height, snug the jam nuts, and the setup is locked in.

At the core of the endlink's durability advantage are its PTFE-lined FK 1/2" spherical bearings, made to F1 Spec with a self-cleaning design. The larger bearing diameter compared to budget alternatives delivers substantially higher static radial load capacity - meaning these bearings handle the elevated forces generated by stiffer sway bars, aggressive track driving, and sustained cornering without the premature wear seen in smaller-bore competitors. As with all spherical endlinks, a moderate increase in transmitted road noise is possible - primarily tire noise over certain surfaces - due to the rigid load path they create between the sway bar and strut. Ride harshness is not affected.
