Product Description

The Skyjacker N8016 is a Nitro 8000 series front shock absorber engineered for the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, covering stock height through 3 in. of lift. Pressurized with 150 PSI of nitrogen gas and built around a twin-tube DOM design, it delivers consistent, fade-free damping performance across all speeds and surfaces. The multi-stage velocity-sensitive valving adapts automatically to changing terrain - firming up at highway speeds for confident handling and softening for trail articulation during off-road use - without any manual adjustment.

The 14mm hardened double-chrome rod, oversized bonded iron piston, and leak-proof seal are built to outlast OEM shocks under repeated trail stress. Red polyurethane bushings and a matching boot protect the shaft and add responsiveness to the setup. Mounting hardware is included; factory bolts are reused for a clean installation. This shock is sold individually - two are required to complete a front axle replacement. For Cherokee XJ applications with 3-5 in. of lift, use the N8025 instead.
