The Skyjacker J34RS Softride Rear Lift Leaf Spring is engineered to deliver 3.5-4 inches of rear suspension lift on 1955-1975 Jeep CJ5, CJ6, and Willys CJ platforms equipped with either 4WD or RWD. Built from American steel and processed through Skyjacker's proprietary shot-peening procedure - where hard steel pellets are propelled at high velocity against each individual leaf surface - these springs achieve a substantially higher tensile strength than untreated or conventionally manufactured springs. This surface compression is central to the Softride design philosophy: it enables maximum wheel travel and improved ride quality simultaneously, without compromising the longevity of the spring pack over time.

Two core design features separate the J34RS from standard leaf spring offerings. First, bolt-style spring clips replace the cinch-style bend clips found on most OEM and budget aftermarket springs. Where cinch clips clamp tightly and generate friction that restricts suspension travel and accelerates leaf wear, bolt-style clips allow the pack to move freely across its full arc. Second, each leaf is tapered along its entire length, not just at the tips. Full-length tapering concentrates flex at the leaf ends where articulation is most needed, while simultaneously distributing load stress over a broader surface area - reducing the tendency of any individual leaf to dig into or abrade the leaf above it.
