Fitment Notes

  • Fits the front shock position only; all supported applications are 4WD solid-front-axle configurations - not designed for 2WD vehicles or IFS platforms
  • Sold individually - purchase two (2) for a complete front axle replacement
  • Dimensioned for trucks running 2-5 in. of front suspension lift using the stock solid front axle geometry on these squarebody-era platforms; the eyelet/sleeve mount matches the original shock mounting hardware throughout the 1967-1991 model range
  • The Chevrolet K-series designation (K10/K20/K30) was used through 1987; the V-series designation (V10/V20/V30 → V1500/V2500) succeeded it from 1987-1991 on the same platform with the same front shock geometry - the H7051 covers both naming conventions
  • The GMC K15/K25/K35 designations (1967-1978) and K1500/K2500/K3500 designations (1979-1986) refer to the same platform with re-badged model names; all share the same front shock mounting geometry
  • The 1987 transitional model year includes both old (K-series) and new (V-series) badges on the same platform; both are supported
  • Factory mounting hardware is reused; all necessary washers, bushings, and nuts are included with the shock

Features

  • True velocity-sensitive hydraulic valving adapts damping resistance to actual suspension speed in real time - delivering firmer control over sharp, fast impacts and compliant absorption of gradual road inputs without any manual adjustment
  • Orifice disk design ensures optimal hydraulic fluid flow through the full range of suspension speeds, providing consistent damping response on paved roads, dirt trails, and moderate off-road terrain
  • Leak-proof hydraulic seal construction minimizes maintenance requirements and extends service life across the demanding operating conditions of these heavy-duty truck platforms
  • Bonded iron piston provides superior strength and durability over the long service intervals associated with these classic GM trucks
  • Chrome-plated piston rod resists corrosion, pitting, and surface degradation, protecting the hydraulic seal integrity and maintaining consistent damping performance over time
  • Distinctive red protective boot shields the shock shaft from road debris, mud, dust, and moisture - a Hydro 7000 series signature
  • Eyelet/Sleeve upper and lower mount design is a direct match for the front solid-axle shock mounting geometry used across the entire 1967-1991 Chevrolet/GMC K-series and V-series squarebody platform
  • Backed by Skyjacker's Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Product Description

The Skyjacker H7051 Hydro 7000 is a front shock absorber purpose-built for the classic Chevrolet and GMC 4WD squarebody truck platform spanning 1967 through 1991 - one of the most widely owned and restored vintage truck platforms in existence. The fitment covers the full range of K-series (K10/K20/K30 half-ton through one-ton) and the later V-series (V1500/V2500/V3500) designations across both Chevrolet and GMC nameplates, including all Suburban and Blazer/Jimmy SUV variants on the same solid front axle architecture. The identical eyelet/sleeve shock mounting geometry used across this entire 25-year production span allows the H7051 to serve as a single front shock solution for squarebody builders running 2 to 5 inches of front lift.

The Hydro 7000 is a non-gas-charged hydraulic shock using an orifice disk and true velocity-sensitive valving. Damping resistance adjusts in real time based on suspension speed - relaxed over small, slow road inputs and progressively firmer over large, fast impacts - delivering a more controlled and compliant ride than fixed-orifice OEM-replacement shocks. The bonded iron piston and chrome-plated shaft are built for the long service intervals common on these trucks, and the leak-proof hydraulic seal maintains consistent performance without gas-charged sensitivity to temperature or altitude. The distinctive red protective boot, a Hydro 7000 series signature, guards the shaft from the trail debris and road grime these trucks regularly encounter.

All installation hardware - washers, bushings, and nuts - is included; factory mounting bolts are reused. Sold individually - two are required for a complete front axle upgrade. Backed by Skyjacker's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original retail purchaser.
