Fitment Notes

  • Sold individually - purchase the appropriate quantity for your application (most applications require 2 shocks for a complete axle replacement)
  • All supported vehicles are 4WD; this shock is not designed for 2WD configurations
  • This is a multi-position shock serving both front and rear positions depending on the vehicle and lift height - verify your specific application against the fitment table before ordering
  • 1978-1979 Ford Bronco - Dual Shock Configuration (Important): These Broncos were equipped with factory OE front dual-shock mounting. The H7056 occupies the following position depending on lift:
    • 3-5 in. lift: Forward-of-axle shock mounting location - (2) H7056 required
    • 6 in. lift: Behind-axle shock mounting location - (2) H7056 required
  • 1977-1979 Ford F-150 (4WD): The H7056 serves the forward-of-axle position in the OE dual front shock configuration at 5-6 in. lift, as well as the rear at 1.5-2 in. lift - confirm position when ordering
  • 1980-1986 Ford F-250: Serves front position across a wide 5-8 in. lift range
  • 1980 Toyota Pickup and 1984-1985 Toyota 4Runner: Serves the front position at high-lift (7-8 in.) configurations only; different part numbers cover lower lift heights on these platforms
  • Upper mount: Stem (S1) | Lower mount: Eyelet/Sleeve (ES25) - direct fit for all listed applications using factory mounting hardware
  • Factory mounting bolts are reused; all necessary washers, bushings, and nuts are included

Features

  • True velocity-sensitive hydraulic valving adapts damping resistance to actual suspension speed in real time - providing firm control over large fast impacts and compliant absorption of small gradual road inputs without manual adjustment
  • Orifice disk design ensures optimal hydraulic fluid flow, providing consistent and responsive damping across the diverse range of platforms, positions, and lift heights this shock serves
  • Leak-proof hydraulic seal construction minimizes maintenance needs across the long service intervals typical of classic trucks, vintage Broncos, and lifted Jeep Wranglers
  • Bonded iron piston provides superior strength and fatigue resistance for sustained use in lifted, off-road-driven applications
  • 14mm diameter chromed piston rod resists corrosion and surface pitting, protecting the hydraulic seal and maintaining consistent damping performance over time
  • 2.375 in. body diameter provides robust shock housing for the full range of suspension loads these platforms generate
  • Stem (S1) upper and Eyelet/Sleeve (ES25) lower mount design provides a direct factory-fit mounting solution across all supported vehicles
  • Distinctive red protective boot shields the shock shaft from road debris, mud, and moisture - the Hydro 7000 series signature
  • Backed by Skyjacker's Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Product Description

The Skyjacker H7056 Hydro 7000 is a versatile lifted-application shock absorber serving multiple front and rear positions across three distinct vehicle families: the 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ at 2-2.5 inches of front lift; the Ford Bronco (1966-1979) and early Ford F-Series (F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350) across a range of front and rear lift applications from the 1970s and early 1980s; and the 1980 Toyota Pickup and 1984-1985 Toyota 4Runner at high-lift (7-8 in.) front configurations. A single set of dimensions - 24.75 in. extended, 14.54 in. compressed - serves all of these applications through the shared Stem (S1) upper and Eyelet/Sleeve (ES25) lower mounting geometry.

For the Jeep Wrangler YJ, the H7056 is the primary front shock for 2 and 2.5 in. lift kits - one of the most popular lift heights for the YJ platform, delivering meaningful off-road clearance while maintaining comfortable daily drivability. The Hydro 7000's velocity-sensitive hydraulic valving provides smooth on-road compliance and controlled off-road damping without the temperature sensitivity of gas-charged designs, making it well suited to the YJ's wide range of use cases. For the Ford Bronco and early F-Series, the H7056 covers a broad range of higher-lift applications, including the specialized 1978-1979 Bronco dual front shock configuration where these shocks must be mounted in specific forward-of-axle or behind-axle positions depending on lift height - a detail that buyers on these platforms must carefully review before ordering.

The 14mm chromed piston shaft, bonded iron piston, and 2.375 in. body diameter provide robust construction appropriate for lifted off-road use, and the red polyurethane bushings and signature red boot are the Hydro 7000 series' hallmark finish. All installation hardware is included; factory mounting bolts are reused. Sold individually. Backed by Skyjacker's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original retail purchaser.
