The Skyjacker B8588 Black MAX Twin-Tube Shock Absorber is one of the broadest-application rear shocks in the Black MAX lineup, spanning five decades of Jeep and Dodge vehicles - from 1974 Jeep SJ-platform full-size trucks through 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2s, and including the Wrangler YJ, Liberty, Commander, and Dodge Nitro. Despite the breadth of this list, all supported vehicles share compatible rear shock mounting geometry (dual Eyelet/Sleeve mounts) and comparable rear suspension travel characteristics, making a single well-engineered shock appropriate across all of them. For the Wrangler YJ specifically, the B8588 is sized for 3 to 6 inches of rear lift; for the remaining platforms, it serves as the direct-fit rear replacement at stock or mildly modified ride heights.
