The Skyjacker B8528 Black MAX Twin-Tube Shock Absorber is purpose-built as a rear shock for Jeep Wrangler TJ and TJ Unlimited (LJ) models from 1997-2006 and Jeep Cherokee XJ models from 1984-2001 running 3.5 to 5 inches of rear suspension lift. It is engineered around Skyjacker's proprietary Advanced Foam-Cell technology, featuring a Low-Pro foam insert that compensates for oil expansion under heat and hard use - sustaining consistent damping output throughout the shock's full operating temperature range. The foam-cell design additionally eliminates air from the hydraulic fluid, which allows flexible mounting orientation and prevents performance fade during technical off-road trails or sustained off-pavement driving.

Internally, the B8528 uses vehicle-specific multi-stage StableSteer valving calibrated to the rebound and compression characteristics of the TJ and XJ platforms at lifted ride heights.
