The Skyjacker B8586 Black MAX Shock Absorber is the rear complement to the B8585 front shock, engineered specifically for 1988-1999 Chevrolet and GMC 4WD trucks and full-size SUVs running 4 to 6 inches of rear lift on IFS platforms. Covering C/K 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups as well as the Blazer, Suburban, Jimmy, and Yukon, this shock uses Skyjacker's proven foam-cell twin-tube technology to keep damping performance consistent under both daily driving conditions and hard off-road use. The foam-cell insert actively manages oil expansion as the shock heats up, preventing fade where standard hydraulic shocks typically struggle.

The B8586 installs using your existing factory mounting hardware - all necessary washers, bushings, and nuts are included for a straightforward bolt-on swap. The chrome-plated piston rod and black protective boot resist corrosion and trail debris, while the increased fluid capacity keeps the shock running cool over extended use.
