  • 1986-1995 Toyota Pickup (4WD, All Trims, 2.4L I4 / 3.0L V6) - Front, with 3-4 in. Lift
  • 1993-1998 Toyota T100 (4WD, All Trims, 2.7L I4 / 3.4L V6) - Front
  • 2001-2008 GMC Sierra 1500HD (4WD, All Trims, 6.0L V8 / 8.1L V8) - Front, with 2-3 in. Lift
  • 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD (4WD, All Trims, 6.0L V8 / 6.6L Duramax Diesel / 8.1L V8) - Front, with 2-3 in. Lift

Fitment Notes

  • 4WD vehicles only - this shock is NOT compatible with 2WD configurations on any listed platform
  • Front position only - sold individually; order two for a complete front axle replacement
  • Toyota Pickup and 4Runner applications require a 3-4 in. front lift; verify your lift height before ordering
  • GM 1500HD/2500HD applications require a 2-3 in. front lift; verify your lift height before ordering
  • Foam-cell design allows mounting in any direction - no body-down orientation restriction applies
  • Not for use in competition or racing - warranty is limited to 1 year on commercial vehicles

Features

  • Foam-cell technology compresses to compensate for fluid expansion as the shock heats up, maintaining consistent damping performance across the full operating temperature range
  • Foam-cell insert eliminates air inside the shock body, allowing mounting in any orientation without risk of aeration or cavitation
  • Twin-tube construction with increased fluid capacity improves heat dissipation and extends service life under sustained off-road use
  • Select-specific vehicle valving is tuned to the precise weight, suspension geometry, and lift height of each supported platform for optimized on- and off-road damping
  • Arc-welded end mounts provide a stronger, more durable connection at both mounting points compared to press-fitted or crimped designs
  • Black boot included to protect the piston rod from trail debris, mud, and UV degradation, extending overall shock life
  • Vehicle-specific mount types make installation straightforward without requiring adapter hardware or custom fabrication
  • Compatible with stock and aftermarket lift configurations within the specified lift ranges - no valving recalibration required
  • Limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser on passenger vehicles - backed by Skyjacker's factory warranty program

Product Description

The Skyjacker B8504 is a Black MAX series foam-cell twin-tube hydraulic front shock absorber designed for lifted 4WD trucks and SUVs across two distinct vehicle families. On the Toyota side, it fits the 1986-1989 4Runner 4WD, 1986-1995 Pickup 4WD, and 1993-1998 T100 4WD - all platforms that commonly receive 3-4 inch front lift kits and require a longer, purpose-valved shock to match. On the GM side, it supports the 2001-2008 GMC Sierra 1500HD and 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, both 4WD, with 2-3 inch front lifts. Rather than relying on nitrogen gas pressurization like the Nitro 8000 series, the B8504 uses a foam-cell insert inside the twin-tube body. As the shock heats up under load, the foam compresses to accommodate fluid expansion, keeping damping force stable and predictable without gas pressure. This design also eliminates all air from inside the shock body, which means the B8504 can be mounted in any orientation - a practical advantage during installation on vehicles with limited mounting clearance.

Each B8504 uses select-specific valving calibrated to the exact suspension geometry and lift height of the vehicles it supports, so the damping characteristics are matched to the platform rather than being a generic fitment. Arc-welded end mounts at both the upper and lower attachment points reinforce the shock under the lateral and longitudinal loads common in lifted off-road applications. The included black polyurethane dust boot shields the piston rod from debris intrusion, and the black powder-coat body finish provides corrosion protection for long-term durability. Installation uses the factory mounting bolts with the provided washers, bushings, and nut - no modification or additional adapter hardware required.

The B8504 is sold as a single front shock absorber. Two units are required for a complete front axle replacement. Buyers should confirm their vehicle's lift height falls within the specified range for their platform before ordering - the Toyota applications are calibrated for 3-4 inch front lifts, while the GM HD applications are designed for 2-3 inch front lifts. Skyjacker backs this shock with a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser on passenger vehicles, with a 1-year limitation on commercial vehicles and no warranty coverage for competition or racing use.
