The Skyjacker B8553 Black MAX Twin-Tube Shock Absorber is a rear shock engineered for the classic 1973-1991 Chevrolet and GMC 4WD full-size truck and SUV lineup - covering the K10, K20, K5 Blazer, GMC Jimmy, and the full range of K-Series and V-Series Suburban configurations. Whether you're running a mild 2-inch lift on a 1973 K10 Pickup or a 5-inch lift on a 1988 K1500 Suburban, the B8553 is dimensioned to provide proper shock travel and controlled damping across this broad range of applications. The GMC K30 / K3500 1-Ton Pickup (1977-1987) is also supported, though at a narrower 0-1.5 inch rear lift range due to its heavier-duty suspension geometry. Built on Skyjacker's Advanced Foam-Cell technology, the B8553 features a Low-Pro foam insert that compresses during oil expansion, maintaining consistent damping output regardless of operating temperature - and eliminating air from the hydraulic fluid to prevent fade during extended off-road sessions.

The B8553 uses vehicle-specific multi-stage StableSteer valving calibrated to the rebound and compression demands of these GMT400-era and earlier GMT800-predecessor GM platforms.
