Fitment Notes

• Designed for vehicles with 4-6 in. of front suspension lift - stock brake lines on these Ford F-Series trucks are too short after a suspension lift is installed and must be replaced with extended lines to restore full brake hose travel and prevent damage
• Front brake lines only - for rear extended brake lines on these platforms, use Skyjacker RBL90 (sold separately)
• For the 1980-1989 Ford F-Series with 4-6 in. lift, use Skyjacker FBL90 (requires 7/16 in. banjo bolt) - FBL91 is specifically for the 1990-1998 generation

Product Description

The Skyjacker FBL91 is a pair of stainless steel braided front brake hoses purpose-built for the 1990-1998 Ford F-250 and 1990-1997 Ford F-350 running 4 to 6 inches of front suspension lift. When a suspension lift is installed on these trucks, the increased distance between the front axle and the chassis exceeds the travel capacity of the factory rubber brake hoses - either preventing full suspension droop or, worse, stretching and damaging the hoses over time. The FBL91 resolves this with custom-length hoses specifically sized to provide the correct routing and slack for these lift heights without leaving excess hose that could contact suspension components.

The stainless steel braid construction addresses a key limitation of OEM rubber hoses under hard braking: rubber hoses expand under hydraulic pressure, absorbing pedal input that should be going to the calipers. The stainless braid is dimensionally stable under pressure, transmitting more of each pedal stroke directly to the brakes for firmer, more consistent stopping performance - particularly important on lifted trucks running larger tires that demand greater stopping force. The polyurethane outer jacket protects the braid from the abrasion and chafing that lifted trucks encounter on trails, rocky terrain, and off-road use. Heavy-duty OEM-style brass fittings connect directly to both the hard brake line and the front caliper without adapters.

The FBL91 is the recommended front brake line for Skyjacker's Ford F-Series lift kits from this generation, noted explicitly in the installation documentation for F840-series and related kits. For the rear, Skyjacker's RBL90 provides the companion extended rear brake hose.
