Vehicle Fitment

  • 2002-2004 Acura RSX Base (DC5)
  • 2002-2004 Acura RSX Type-S (DC5)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits 2002-2004 RSX only - for the 2005-2006 RSX, see Skunk2 part number 519-05-1672
  • Compatible with OEM factory shock absorbers - no shock upgrade required for installation
  • Also compatible with most aftermarket shock absorbers
  • When upgrading shocks simultaneously, Skunk2 recommends pairing with Skunk2 Sport Shocks and camber correction components
  • Sold as a complete set of 4 springs (2 front, 2 rear)
  • Post-installation wheel alignment is required

Features

  • 2.25-inch front / 2.00-inch rear drop - lowers the center of gravity significantly for reduced body roll, improved cornering grip, and a more aggressive stance
  • Progressive dual-rate spring design (tender + main) - tender spring engages first for smooth initial response over small bumps; main spring engages under heavier loading for controlled cornering performance; delivers race-car handling without a harsh daily-driving ride
  • Counteracts acceleration squat and brake dive - stiffer spring rates resist pitch and squat under hard acceleration and braking for a flatter, more planted driving attitude
  • CNC-wound SAE 9254V spring steel - high-chromium-silicon alloy provides excellent fatigue resistance and long-term spring rate retention under repeated compression cycling
  • Shot-peen stress relieved - compressive residual stress introduced at the surface layer extends spring life by resisting crack initiation and propagation
  • Powder coat and phosphate corrosion protection - dual-treatment process resists rust and corrosion for long-term durability in all weather conditions
  • Compatible with stock and aftermarket wheels

Product Description

Skunk2's 519-05-1670 lowering springs are a complete set of four CNC-wound progressive dual-rate springs for the 2002-2004 Acura RSX (Base and Type-S). The 2.25-inch front and 2.00-inch rear drop lowers the RSX's center of gravity substantially - reducing body roll in corners, improving contact patch loading under hard cornering, and giving the car a much more aggressive visual stance.

The progressive tender/main dual-rate design is central to Skunk2's balance of performance and daily drivability. The tender spring handles small compliance inputs for a smoother initial ride, while the stiffer main spring rate engages under greater suspension travel to resist body roll and pitch under hard driving. The result is handling that exceeds OEM spring performance without the punishing harshness of single-rate track springs. Springs are wound from SAE 9254V chromium-silicon spring steel, shot-peen stress relieved for fatigue life, and dual-coated with phosphate and powder coat for weather resistance. These springs are a direct drop-in with factory or aftermarket shocks - no modifications required. Post-installation alignment is strongly recommended. Note: for 2005-2006 RSX, use Skunk2 part 519-05-1672 instead.
