Vehicle Fitment

  • 2021-present Ford Bronco - Base Model (recommended at 2" lift and above)
  • 2021-present Ford Bronco - Badlands Model (recommended at 1.5" lift and above)
  • 2021-present Ford Bronco - Wildtrack, Outer Banks, Big Bend, and all other non-Sasquatch models (same thresholds as Base/Badlands per trim)
  • 2021-present Ford Bronco - all models equipped with the Sasquatch Package (recommended at 1" lift and above)
  • 2021-present Ford Bronco - all 2-door and 4-door configurations

Fitment Notes

  • Lift thresholds by trim - the bracket is recommended at different minimum lift heights depending on which Bronco trim/package is installed; Sasquatch Package models (all trims) require this bracket at 1" of lift or more due to the Sasquatch package's higher ride height affecting baseline trac bar geometry; non-Sasquatch Badlands models need it at 1.5"+ lift; Base and other non-Sasquatch, non-Badlands models need it at approximately 2"+ lift
  • Also highly recommended - regardless of lift height - on Broncos with significant weight added above the roof line or behind the tailgate, such as rooftop tents, heavy overland gear, cargo carriers, or rear-mounted equipment; these additions raise the center of gravity and make the rear roll center geometry correction proportionally more important for handling stability
  • Shock clearance requirement: rear shocks must measure a minimum of 18.15 inches at full compression when this bracket is installed; shocks shorter than this at full compression can contact the frame with the bracket in place; verify your shock's compressed length before installation
  • Trac bar compatibility: works with both the factory Ford Bronco rear trac bar and any aftermarket adjustable rear trac bar, including the RockJock RJ-183400-101 Johnny Joint adjustable rear trac bar; an aftermarket adjustable trac bar is strongly recommended alongside this bracket to allow the axle to be re-centered under the chassis after the trac bar's attachment point is raised
  • Bolt-on installation - no welding, cutting, or permanent modification to the axle housing is required; the bracket clamps/bolts to the factory axle housing mounting provisions using included hardware

Features

  • Rear trac bar geometry correction - when a Bronco is lifted, the axle housing drops relative to the frame while the trac bar's frame-end pivot remains at the same height; this creates a downward diagonal angle on the trac bar that pulls the rear axle laterally toward the driver's side under body roll and suspension travel, degrading straight-line stability, creating bump-steer in the rear, and increasing body roll sensitivity; the RJ-181400-101 bracket relocates the axle-end trac bar mounting point upward to restore the original geometry relationship between the two trac bar mounting points, correcting all of these issues simultaneously
  • Roll center correction for added roof or tailgate load - as well as correcting lift-induced geometry errors, the bracket raises the rear suspension roll center closer to the vehicle's center of gravity; this correction becomes especially important on Broncos fitted with rooftop tents, heavy roof racks loaded with gear, overlanding equipment, or rear-mounted cargo carriers, all of which raise the CoG and make the mismatched roll center more consequential for handling stability during cornering and trail driving
  • Fully bolt-on installation to factory axle housing - the bracket is designed to use existing mounting provisions on the Bronco's rear axle housing; no welding or drilling of the housing is required; all necessary hardware is included for installation
  • Brake line relocation tab included - when the trac bar mounting point is raised, the original brake line routing may conflict with the new hardware position; the included brake line relocation tab provides a new attachment point that routes the rear brake line clear of the new trac bar bolt location, ensuring full brake line clearance without modification of the line itself
  • Compatible with factory and aftermarket trac bars - the bracket raises the axle mounting point and works with either the factory Bronco rear trac bar or an aftermarket adjustable trac bar; using an adjustable trac bar (such as the RockJock RJ-183400-101) is recommended alongside this bracket so that the axle can be precisely re-centered under the chassis after installation, as raising the axle mounting point changes the effective trac bar length geometry
  • Semi-gloss black powder coat finish - provides corrosion protection for the axle housing bracket environment, where exposure to road spray, mud, and debris is constant

Product Description

The RockJock RJ-181400-101 is the Rear Trac Bar Relocation (Geometry Correction) Axle Bracket Kit for the 2021-up Ford Bronco - a bolt-on bracket that addresses the rear suspension geometry degradation caused by lift on the Bronco platform. The Bronco's rear suspension uses a Panhard bar (trac bar) to locate the rear axle side-to-side under the chassis. At factory ride height, the trac bar runs at approximately level between its two mounting points, providing neutral, symmetric lateral axle location throughout the suspension travel range. When the vehicle is lifted, the axle housing drops but the frame-mounted end of the trac bar stays at the same height, creating a diagonal that introduces lateral axle movement during suspension travel - the rear axle shifts to the driver's side as the suspension compresses, producing rear bump-steer, inconsistent straight-line tracking, and higher sensitivity to body roll. The RJ-181400-101 bracket raises the axle-end trac bar mounting point to restore the original level geometry.

The kit's necessity varies by Bronco trim and lift combination. Sasquatch Package Broncos sit higher from the factory than non-Sasquatch models, meaning the geometry departure occurs at a lower amount of added lift - making this bracket necessary at 1" of additional lift. Badlands models need it at approximately 1.5" of added lift. Base and other non-Sasquatch trims can typically wait until 2" of lift before the geometry correction becomes significant enough to require this bracket. Additionally, RockJock specifically calls out heavy rooftop loads - rooftop tents, roof racks loaded with overlanding gear, and heavy rear-mounted cargo - as a second scenario where this bracket is highly recommended regardless of lift height, because these loads raise the vehicle's center of gravity and make the roll center misalignment proportionally more impactful on handling.

Installation is fully bolt-on with no welding, no cutting, and no permanent modification to the axle housing. The kit includes the axle bracket, a brake line relocation tab to maintain proper brake line routing at the new trac bar bolt position, and all necessary hardware. The one critical compatibility check before installation is rear shock compressed length - the bracket requires a minimum of 18.15 inches at full compression; shorter shocks can contact the frame with the bracket installed. An aftermarket adjustable rear trac bar, such as the RockJock RJ-183400-101 Johnny Joint adjustable trac bar, is strongly recommended alongside this bracket to allow precise axle centering after the mounting point is raised.
