The Rock Slide Engineering BD-SS-302-JL4 is the latest 3rd Generation Step Slider built specifically for the 2026 Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door, combining a trail-rated rock slider with a fully functional power step for easier entry and exit. This revision adds 2 extra inches to the back end of the step compared to earlier versions, giving safer, more comfortable access to the rear doors.

Built from durable 3/16 in. (10-gauge) steel with stainless steel and aluminum internals, the slider is finished in a tough, textured black powder coat for long-term corrosion resistance. Rock Slide's smart motor technology - with the gas strut removed from the step internals - keeps the step deploying and retracting consistently even in cold or harsh weather, while a built-in sleep mode helps minimize battery drain between uses. The step deploys a full 12 inches down from the body of the slider when the door opens, then automatically retracts flush when it closes, and an open/close switch lets the step still function if the doors are removed.

Installation uses factory mounting points with no drilling, taking roughly 3 hours for someone with light-to-moderate mechanical skill. The kit ships in two boxes - driver's side and passenger's side - and owners can further outfit the setup with optional skid plates, rocker guards, an LED light kit, or a door delete kit, all sold separately.
