Product Description

The Rancho RS55245 is an RS5000X series rear shock absorber purpose-built for the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ with 3 to 3.5 inches of rear lift. The longer extended length of 24.67 inches (versus standard-height XJ rear shocks) is specifically sized to accommodate the increased droop travel that comes with lifted XJ applications, ensuring proper damping performance throughout the full range of suspension travel. Rancho's Cross Tuned technology combines a patented rebound valving system with an advanced compression phase to deliver improved handling and ride quality on both paved roads and off-road terrain.

Built with a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod, 35mm sintered iron piston, and double-welded mounting loops, the RS55245 handles the demands of a lifted XJ platform with confidence. Nitrogen gas pressurization at 150 PSI suppresses damping fade and foaming, while all-weather fluid maintains consistent performance from -40°F to 248°F. For a complete lifted shock system on the XJ, pair with the Rancho RS55239 front shock. Sold individually - order in pairs for a complete rear axle replacement.
