The Rancho RS77274 is a rear monotube shock absorber from the RS7MT series - Rancho's premium performance monotube line designed for demanding truck and SUV applications including off-road use, towing, and larger wheel and tire packages. Unlike the twin-tube RS5000X series, the RS7MT uses a single-tube monotube design with a full-floating dividing piston that keeps the nitrogen gas and hydraulic oil permanently separated. This eliminates oil aeration under extreme conditions and delivers significantly more consistent damping across the full range of suspension travel - a particular advantage in sustained off-road driving or aggressive terrain use where twin-tube shocks are prone to fade.
