The Rancho RS55289 RS5000X is an extended-length front shock absorber engineered for lifted 4WD applications on 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD and 2500 HD, 2001-2010 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, their 2007 Classic variants, and 2003-2009 Hummer H2 models. At 21.41" extended and 13.88" compressed, this shock is sized specifically to work within the suspension travel range of these GM heavy-duty torsion bar platforms when a front lift has been installed. On the Silverado/Sierra 1500 HD, it is matched for 4-5" of front lift. Built on Rancho's patented Cross Tuned Technology, the RS55289 combines an exclusive rebound valving system with an advanced compression phase to deliver measurably better stability, control, and ride quality on a lifted heavy-duty truck compared to either worn OEM shocks or standard-length aftermarket replacements that are mismatched to the extended suspension geometry.

The RS55289 is a direct-fit extended-length front replacement for lifted 4WD variants of the 2001-2010 Silverado 1500 HD and 2500 HD, 2001-2010 GMC Sierra 2500 HD (including 2007 Classic models), and 2003-2009 Hummer H2. It requires a torsion bar front suspension and is not compatible with vehicles equipped with electronic or Autoride suspension, Quadrasteer, or RWD/2WD drivetrain configurations. Owners of the 2011 and newer Silverado/Sierra 2500 HD should select Rancho RS55380 instead. Installation uses factory mounting hardware with the included hardware kit. Sold individually - two are required for a complete front axle replacement.
