Product Description

The Rancho RS55288 is an RS5000X series front shock absorber covering a broad range of GM heavy-duty trucks and SUVs, including the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500/3500 HD (2001-2010), GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500/3500 HD (2001-2010), Chevrolet Suburban 3500 HD (2016-2019), and Hummer H2 (2003-2009). All fitments are stock height (0-inch lift) applications. Earlier 2001-2007 Silverado and Sierra HD models require a torsion bar front spring configuration. Built around Rancho's Cross Tuned technology, the RS5000X pairs a patented rebound valving system with an advanced compression phase to deliver improved handling and ride quality on both road and off-road surfaces.

Constructed with a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod, 35mm sintered iron piston, and double-welded mounting loops, the RS55288 is built to handle the demands of heavy-duty GM truck platforms under stock height conditions. Nitrogen gas pressurization at 150 PSI suppresses damping fade and foaming, while all-weather fluid maintains consistent performance from -40°F to 248°F. Note that vehicles with Autoride or Air Leveling suspension are excluded. Sold individually - order in pairs for a complete front axle replacement. Factory mounting bolts are reused; all bushings, washers, and nuts are included.
