Fitment Notes

• Foam is inserted through the standard 6 in. x 10 in. lid opening on all Radium RA-Series fuel cells.
• 6 Gallon (R06A) - Quantity Required: 2 pieces. Modification: Cut each end 4.95 in. (126 mm) shorter.
• 10 Gallon (R10A) - Quantity Required: 2 pieces. Modification: None.
• 10.5 Gallon (R11A) - Quantity Required: 2 pieces. Modification: Cut each piece into 3 sections.
• 14 Gallon (R14A) - Quantity Required: 3 pieces. Modification: Cut 1 piece in half lengthways.
• 22 Gallon (R22A) - Quantity Required: 5 pieces. Modification: Cut 1 piece in half lengthways.
• Inspect foam condition after every race season. Replace at a minimum every 3 seasons. For applications using high-content alcohol fuels (ethanol, methanol, E85), inspect more frequently as alcohol exposure may shorten foam service life.

Product Description

The Radium Engineering 18-0066 is the FIA-mandated reticulated polyurethane explosion suppressant and baffling foam used in all Radium RA-Series fuel cells. It is the same foam supplied preassembled in every new Radium RA-Series fuel cell and is sold here as a replacement or additional piece for servicing existing installations. Manufactured to MIL-DTL-83054C Type-II specification at 15 pores per inch, this foam serves two critical functions inside the fuel cell: it displaces fuel vapors throughout the interior volume to reduce the concentration of explosive vapor above the fuel surface, and it acts as a baffle that limits fuel aeration and slosh - ensuring the pickup remains submerged and the pump receives a continuous fuel supply even under hard cornering, acceleration, and braking. Each half-block displaces only 0.07 gallons (9 oz) of effective fuel volume, a negligible trade-off for the safety and starvation protection it provides.
