Vehicle Fitment

  • 1963-1967 Chevrolet Corvette C2 (Sting Ray)
  • 1968-1982 Chevrolet Corvette C3 (Stingray / Corvette)
  • 1958-1970 Chevrolet Impala, Bel Air, Caprice (Full-Size GM - Style D spring perch)

Fitment Notes

  • Style D spring - 9-inch tapered with large diameter pigtail upper end - specific to 1963-1982 Corvette and 1958-1970 full-size Chevy spring perch geometry; this is a different spring style than the Style C (flat large upper) used on 1971+ full-size GM vehicles
  • 450 lbs/in spring rate is the small block engine recommendation; for big block applications see the 550 lbs/in kit (GS507-09550D)
  • Bolt-in compatible with both factory OE stamped steel control arms and QA1 tubular control arms - no control arm replacement required
  • Upper mount: Stud type / Lower mount: T-bar type
  • Some applications may require the lower A-arm to be dropped for installation; shock body diameter may require enlarging the lower control arm shock opening
  • Provides 0 to -2 inches of front ride height adjustability
  • Spanner wrench and thrust bearing not included - sold separately (QA1 7888-109 / 7888-110)
  • Register shocks at QA1 before installation to activate Limited Lifetime Warranty

Features

  • Single adjustable GS507 Pro Coil shock - 18 valving positions of simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment for easy on-car tuning
  • Provides 0 to -2 inches of front ride height adjustability via threaded shock body spring seat nut
  • Includes a 9-inch tapered Style D high travel chrome silicon spring at 450 lbs/in - large diameter pigtail upper end specific to Corvette C2/C3 and 1958-1970 full-size Chevy spring perch geometry
  • Fewer coils and smaller wire diameter vs. conventional springs for increased travel and reduced unsprung weight
  • Bolt-in with both factory OE and QA1 tubular control arms for maximum build flexibility
  • Stud upper / T-bar lower mount configuration for stock-style front suspension integration
  • Suitable for street performance, autocross, road racing, drag racing, and street rod applications
  • 100% dyno-tested and serialized for verified, consistent performance
  • Serviceable and rebuildable by QA1 Authorized Service Centers
  • Made in the USA at QA1's Lakeville, Minnesota facility

Product Description

The QA1 GS507-09450D is a single adjustable front Pro Coil coilover system engineered as a bolt-in front suspension upgrade for 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvettes (C2 and C3) and 1958-1970 Chevrolet full-size vehicles including the Impala, Bel Air, and Caprice. This kit uses the Style D spring - a 9-inch tapered spring with a large diameter pigtail upper end - which is specific to the Corvette C2/C3 and 1958-1970 full-size Chevy spring perch geometry, and is distinct from the Style C flat large upper spring used on 1971+ full-size GM vehicles. The 450 lbs/in rate is the small block engine recommendation for this application.

The GS507 single adjustable shock offers an 18-position valve dial that adjusts compression and rebound simultaneously, accessible by turning the steering wheel to full lock. This kit provides up to 2 inches of ride height drop via the threaded shock body spring seat and installs with both factory OE stamped steel control arms and QA1 tubular control arms. Note that a spanner wrench and thrust bearing are sold separately. Each shock is 100% dyno-tested, serialized, and serviceable by QA1 Authorized Service Centers. Register at QA1 before installation to activate the Limited Lifetime Warranty.
