Fitment Notes

This kit uses Spring Style "C" - fits 1973+ GM A-Body, G-Body, and X-Body platforms only. For 1967-1972 GM F-Body and A-Body (Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, Firebird, GTO), order the GD401-10400A instead.
Designed to work with factory stock suspension and stock control arms - no cutting or welding required.
Some front applications may require the lower control arm to be dropped for installation. Some control arm shock openings may need to be enlarged to accept the QA1 shock body diameter.
Recommended for front-end weights of approximately 1,701-1,900 lbs. - verify against your specific build weight when selecting spring rate.
For additional drop beyond 2 in., drop spindles are recommended as a complement to this system.
Stud mount length measured to the shoulder of the stud - add 13/16 in. for installed compressed length per stud mount.
Does not fit 4WD or AWD vehicles.
Sold as a kit - includes one shock and one spring. Most applications require two kits (one per side).

Product Description

The QA1 GD401-10400C is a complete front Pro Coil double-adjustable coil-over system designed for 1973-1988 GM A-Body, G-Body, and X-Body vehicles including the Chevelle, Malibu, El Camino, Monte Carlo, Nova, Grand Prix, Cutlass Supreme, Regal, and Grand National. It bolts directly to the factory front suspension using the stock control arms and OE stud upper / T-bar lower mounting points - no cutting, welding, or suspension modifications required. The double-adjustable valving provides 18 independent positions of both rebound and compression on separate external knobs, giving builders 324 total tuning combinations to dial in the suspension for street cruising, autocross, road course, or drag racing without compromising the other direction of travel.

The included 400 lb./in. Style "C" high-travel Pro Coil spring is built with a smaller wire diameter and fewer coils than a standard comparable spring, delivering more usable stroke, reduced unsprung mass, and better damper compliance across the full ride height range. Ride height is adjustable from 0 to -2 in. via the threaded spring seat, and for drops beyond 2 in., drop spindles can be added. The 400 lb./in. rate is recommended for builds in the 1,701-1,900 lb. front-end weight range. Sold as one shock and spring per kit - two kits are required for a complete front installation. Note that this is the Style "C" version for 1973+ GM platforms; builds using 1967-1972 F-Body or A-Body platforms require the GD401-10400A instead.
