Product Description

QA1 GS501 is a Pro Coil single-adjustable front coilover shock designed for a broad range of GM performance applications. Rather than being limited to one vehicle, the GS501 uses GM-specific stud and T-bar mounting geometry and is applicable across supported A-Body, F-Body, G-Body, X-Body, B-Body, truck, and other GM chassis configurations. The lightweight aluminum body and threaded design provide a combination of performance, ride-height adjustability, and reduced suspension weight.

The shock provides 18 simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment positions, allowing the damping to be tuned from a more compliant street setting toward a firmer performance setting. Its twin-tube construction, polyurethane lower bushing, 10.5-inch collapsed length, and 15-inch extended length make it suitable for the supported GM front suspension configurations. The threaded body allows up to 2 inches of ride-height adjustment when properly configured.

GS501 is sold as a shock only and does not include a coilover spring. QA1 specifies use with its tapered coil springs, with a recommended 2.5-inch inside diameter and 10-inch spring length. The appropriate spring rate must be selected based on the vehicle's front-end weight and intended use. Verify the specific chassis, control-arm configuration, mounting dimensions, and suspension travel before installation; two GS501 shocks are required for a complete front-axle installation.
