Fitment Notes

  • Rear anti-hop bar kit - sold as a complete pair with all installation hardware
  • Does NOT fit Oldsmobile rear ends - Olds-axle-equipped A-Body vehicles are not compatible with this kit regardless of chassis year or model
  • 1964 models require separate purchase of new differential bushings - not included with this kit; verify bushing availability before ordering for 1964 applications
  • Fits all GM A-Body platforms from 1964-1972 using the standard GM rear axle (non-Olds); works with factory leaf spring suspension
  • QA1 strongly recommends pairing with adjustable trailing arms for maximum adjustability and traction performance
  • Designed to fit most factory leaf spring configurations - no cutting, drilling, or permanent chassis modifications required
  • Made in the USA

Features

  • Relocates the upper trailing arms to change the instant center of the rear suspension - improves chassis reaction under hard acceleration and increases forward bite and traction
  • Reduces pinion angle deflection during launches, virtually eliminating wheel hop for more consistent, controlled acceleration
  • Heavy gauge rectangular steel tubing construction with MIG welded brackets for maximum strength under repeated launch stress
  • Black powder coated finish for corrosion protection and clean underbody appearance
  • Black polyurethane snubbers isolate vibration and noise while maintaining positive location of the axle housing
  • Graphite/polyurethane bushings included for smooth pivot action and long service life
  • U-bolts and complete installation hardware included - no additional hardware required
  • One of the most effective and easily installed traction improvements available for the GM A-Body platform

Product Description

The QA1 5213 Rear Anti-Hop Bar Kit is a direct-fit traction upgrade for all 1964-1972 GM A-Body vehicles with standard GM rear axles - including the Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Buick Skylark/Special/Gran Sport, Pontiac GTO/LeMans/Tempest/Grand Prix. By relocating the upper trailing arms, these bars change the instant center of the rear suspension to improve chassis reaction, reduce pinion angle deflection, and dramatically increase forward bite and traction under hard acceleration. Constructed from heavy gauge rectangular steel tubing with MIG welded brackets and a durable black powder coat finish, the kit includes graphite/polyurethane bushings, polyurethane snubbers, U-bolts, and all installation hardware. Made in the USA.

Does not fit Oldsmobile rear ends. 1964 models require separate differential bushings. QA1 recommends pairing with adjustable trailing arms for maximum performance.
