Vehicle Fitment

  • 1964-1966 Ford Mustang (All Trims incl. Hardtop, Fastback, Convertible)
  • Engines: I6 2.8L / 3.3L, V8 4.7L (289), V8 5.0L (302)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits all 1964-1966 Ford Mustang body styles and engine combinations sharing the same front suspension geometry and spring pocket design.
  • Compatible with factory OE stamped steel control arms and QA1 tubular control arms - no cutting or welding required for either.
  • 350 lb./in. spring rate is QA1's entry-level performance rate for the 1964-1966 Mustang platform - ideal for stock or near-stock weight builds primarily used on the street. For heavier or more performance-oriented builds, the 400 lb./in. version (MS401-10400C) is recommended.
  • Ride height adjustability: 0 to -2 in. below stock via the threaded spring seat. For additional drop beyond 2 in., drop spindles are recommended.
  • Spanner wrench (QA1 T114W or T115W) required for ride height adjustment - sold separately. Thrust bearing kit (QA1 7888-109) optional but recommended.
  • For 1967-1973 Mustang, order MS402-10350C. For double-adjustable on the same 1964-1966 platform, order MD401-10350C.
  • Sold as a pair - one kit covers both sides of the front suspension.

Features

  • 18-position single-adjustable combined rebound and compression knob - one turn firms or softens both simultaneously for simple, accessible tuning from the engine bay.
  • 0-2 in. of ride height adjustability below stock via the fully threaded aluminum shock body - adjust on the car without removal.
  • Lightweight machined aluminum shock body reduces unsprung weight for improved suspension responsiveness vs. OE steel shocks.
  • High-travel 350 lb./in. Pro Coil springs with smaller wire diameter and fewer coils for more usable stroke and reduced unsprung mass.
  • Application-specific stud upper / T-bar lower mounting matches OE 1964-1966 Mustang front suspension mounting points - true bolt-in installation.
  • 100% dyno tested and serialized; serviceable and rebuildable by QA1 authorized service centers.
  • Eligible for QA1's Limited Lifetime Warranty (register at QA1 before installation); proudly made in the USA.

Product Description

The QA1 MS401-10350C is a front Pro Coil single-adjustable coil-over system engineered specifically for 1964-1966 Ford Mustangs, covering all body styles and engine combinations from the base inline-6 through the 289 V8. It replaces the factory coil spring and shock absorber with an adjustable coil-over system using the stock OE control arms and stud upper / T-bar lower mounting points - no cutting or welding required. A single 18-position knob simultaneously adjusts rebound and compression, allowing quick and simple tuning between a comfortable street setting and a firmer performance setup with a turn of the steering wheel to full lock for easy access.

The 350 lb./in. spring rate is QA1's softest option for the 1964-1966 Mustang platform and is best suited for stock or near-stock weight street builds where ride comfort is prioritized alongside improved handling. For heavier builds or more aggressive street/track use, QA1 recommends stepping up to the 400 lb./in. version (MS401-10400C). Ride height is adjustable 0-2 in. below stock via the threaded shock body using a spanner wrench (T114W or T115W, sold separately). All shocks are dyno tested and serialized before shipment and are eligible for QA1's Limited Lifetime Warranty upon registration at QA1 before installation.
