Product Description

The Prothane 7-112-BL is a 12-piece black polyurethane body and cab mount bushing kit engineered for 1988-1998 Chevrolet and GMC C/K series Standard Cab pickups in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. This kit covers the full OBS (Old Body Style) generation across C1500, C2500, C3500, K1500, K2500, and K3500 Standard Cab trucks - replacing every body mount bushing in the cab-to-frame interface with Prothane's precision-molded polyurethane compound. OEM rubber body mounts on these trucks are notorious for deteriorating with age, compressing under load, and eventually losing their ability to properly locate the cab on the frame - resulting in cab wobble, body alignment issues, increased noise transmission, and a generally loose, disconnected driving feel.

Prothane's black polyurethane compound is formulated to resist the forces that destroy rubber over time: sustained compression, UV exposure, road chemicals, and oil contamination. Unlike rubber, polyurethane holds its shape and resilience under prolonged use, maintaining proper body-to-frame positioning and reducing unwanted noise and movement at the mount interface. The black formula includes a graphite additive to help minimize noise at the body-to-frame contact points. Because body mount bushings compress rather than rotate, no grease is required or included with this kit - simply install and torque to specification using the existing OEM fasteners.

It is critical to note that this kit is specifically designed for Standard Cab / Regular Cab trucks only - it is not compatible with Extended Cab configurations. Owners of Extended Cab OBS C/K trucks should use Prothane part number 7-113-BL. Hardware (bolts, washers, and top plates) is not included in the kit, as the existing OEM fasteners are designed to be reused; however, it is advisable to inspect all hardware for corrosion or damage and replace as needed before installation.
