Product Description

The Prothane 7-228 is a front control arm bushing kit designed specifically for the 1984-1996 Chevrolet Corvette C4 across all trims and engine variants. It replaces the rubber inserts in the front upper and lower control arm bushings without requiring replacement of the OEM outer metal shells - the original shells are reused, making installation straightforward without a hydraulic press for the shell itself. The C4 Corvette's aluminum front control arms are particularly sensitive to bushing condition, as worn rubber allows the arm to shift under load, throwing off caster and camber mid-corner and introducing the steering vibration and wander C4 owners commonly experience with aged suspension components.

Prothane's polyurethane is significantly firmer than the factory rubber, holding the control arm in precise alignment geometry through hard cornering and high-speed driving - a meaningful improvement for both street-driven C4s and those used on track days. Super Grease is included and must be applied during installation to prevent squeaking.
