The PowerStop Z23-627 Z23 Evolution Sport Rear Brake Pads are a direct-fit upgrade for the 1994-2004 Ford Mustang V6 and GT, covering both the SN-95 (1994-1998) and New Edge (1999-2004) generations. Engineered for daily-driven Mustang owners who want noticeably cleaner, quieter stopping without sacrificing the confident brake feel these chassis demand, these pads use a carbon-fiber-infused ceramic Z23 compound that outperforms standard OE-grade replacements in dust reduction and heat resistance. The result is a rear brake upgrade that works in harmony with the Mustang's rear disc setup for smooth, fade-resistant braking mile after mile.

Each pad is thermally scorched at the factory for faster break-in, with chamfered and slotted edges and a dual-layer rubberized shim stack that keeps noise virtually eliminated. A powder-coated backing plate provides long-term corrosion protection. These pads are a rear-axle-only fitment and are specific to the base V6 and GT models - the SVT Cobra, Bullitt, and Mach 1 use a different caliper and rotor setup requiring part number Z23-627A. No pad wear sensor is included or needed for these applications.
