Product Description

The Perrin PSP-EXT-001 is a turbo heat shield for EJ-series turbocharged Subaru models including the 2002-2014 WRX, 2004-2021 STI, 2004-2013 Forester XT, and 2005-2009 Legacy GT/Outback XT. CNC formed from 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, this shield protects the top-mount intercooler from radiant heat off the turbocharger. It covers more of the turbo than the OEM shield or competing products -- wrapping over the top of the downpipe, sides of the turbo housing, and fitting snugly around the wastegate arm to keep heat contained below.

Adjustable front-to-back to allow maximum turbo coverage across different applications and turbo setups. The backside is cut to clear all aftermarket downpipes, making it ideal for builds where the OEM heat shield had to be cut or removed during downpipe installation. Spot welded construction eliminates the rattles common with riveted shields -- every weld passes Perrin's "Nugget Test" to verify full metal penetration. Does not fit right-hand drive vehicles. If the vehicle is missing OEM mounting brackets, Subaru part numbers 44021AA014 (upper downpipe/turbo shield bracket) and 14427AA022 (up-pipe support bracket) are required.
