The Ohlins BMS MI20S1 is a complete Road & Track coilover suspension system engineered specifically for the 2007-2014 MINI Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works in R56 form. The system is built around Ohlins' patented Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology - exclusive to the R&T line - which provides matched damper fluid flow characteristics on both compression and rebound strokes. The result is a suspension that returns the tire to the road surface faster after each input, delivering sharper lateral grip, more balanced cornering, and a more planted feel than conventional coilover systems at equivalent spring rates. Application-specific spring rates of 70 N/mm front and 60 N/mm rear are tuned to the R56 platform's geometry and weight distribution for optimal performance straight from installation.

The monotube damper architecture provides faster heat dissipation and more consistent damping response under repeated track inputs compared to twin-tube designs. A single gold adjustment knob on each damper simultaneously sets high- and low-speed compression and high- and low-speed rebound across a 20+ click range, making corner-by-corner tuning fast and intuitive without requiring tools.
