Product Description

The Ohlins MAS MI00S1 is a complete Road & Track DFV coilover suspension kit engineered specifically for the 2003-2012 Mazda RX-8 (SE3P). Developed to transform the RX-8's already well-regarded chassis dynamics into a truly adjustable, track-capable platform without sacrificing daily drivability, this kit is the product of Ohlins' four decades of motorsport suspension development applied directly to a street car application. The system features Ohlins' patented Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology at all four corners - a single golden adjuster knob on each damper that simultaneously optimizes low- and high-speed compression and rebound damping in both directions of travel. At the track, turn the adjuster clockwise for firm, responsive race-mode damping; on the road, dial it back for smooth, compliant daily driving - all without separate compression and rebound adjusters or complex setup procedures.

The front struts feature a monotube damper design with independent spring preload and ride height adjusters, allowing the driver to set exact corner weights and chassis height without these two settings interfering with each other. Ohlins aluminum upper mounts replace the factory rubber mounts for a sharper, more immediate steering and suspension response. The rear units use the same monotube architecture and DFV technology, retaining the RX-8's original OEM rear top mounts to maintain compatibility with the factory geometry. Front spring rate is set at 80 N/mm for responsive handling with manageable compliance; rear spring rate is 40 N/mm - a softer rear tuning that complements the RX-8's natural tendency toward rear-wheel engagement and helps maintain balance during corner entry and mid-corner phases. Target ride height is approximately 20-50 mm lower than OEM at the front and 25-50 mm lower at the rear, depending on adjuster position.
