Vehicle Fitment

  • 1994.5-2003 Ford F-250 / F-350 (7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, all trims, 2WD/4WD)
  • 1999-2003 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty (7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, all trims, 2WD/4WD)
  • 2000-2003 Ford Excursion (7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, all trims)
  • 1994.5-2003 Ford Econoline (7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, all trims)
  • 1994.5-2003 Ford E-Series Van / Motorhome / Bus Chassis (7.3L Powerstroke Diesel)

Fitment Notes

  • Direct-fit replacement for the OEM oil pan on all covered 7.3L Powerstroke applications - no modifications required.
  • Uses the stock oil pump, oil pump pickup tube, and stock dipstick tube assembly - no additional hardware purchases required for basic installation.
  • Reuses existing factory oil pan mounting hardware - new bolts are not required.
  • Oil pan gasket is NOT included. Moroso recommends their one-piece molded gasket (Moroso P/N 27293) for use with this pan, though RTV silicone is also acceptable.
  • Magnetic drain plug thread size: 14mm x 1.5 pitch, 17mm hex head. Two drain plug washers are included - one installed on the plug, one spare. Do NOT stack the washers as they are different materials and will cause a leak.
  • Also compatible with International T444E engines (same engine family as the Ford 7.3L Powerstroke).

Features

  • Engineered specifically to address the well-documented premature rusting and corrosion failure of the OEM 7.3L Powerstroke oil pan - which uses only a simple black painted surface finish.
  • Heavy-duty 16-gauge steel construction is thicker than the factory OEM pan, providing greater structural rigidity and impact resistance.
  • Industry-leading triple-coat finishing process: (1) zinc phosphate base coat - creates a durable finish foundation and neutralizes corrosion generated by the welding process; (2) black 1-mil thick electrocoat; (3) gloss black epoxy powdercoat topcoat.
  • Salt spray tested to verify superior corrosion resistance compared to the OEM pan - proven to significantly outlast factory painted steel in road salt, moisture, and thermal cycling environments.
  • Internal OEM-style anti-slosh baffle keeps oil contained around the oil pump pickup area during hard acceleration, deceleration, and cornering.
  • Dipstick provision on the passenger side maintains stock dipstick tube routing and accessibility.
  • Notch in the front of the pan provides clearance for OEM and aftermarket front accessory components.
  • Magnetic drain plug captures ferrous metallic debris during every oil change, providing early warning of internal engine wear.
  • More cost-effective long-term solution than aluminum aftermarket alternatives, with the durability to eliminate the recurring cost of replacing corroded OEM pans every few years.

Product Description

The Moroso 27336 is a direct-fit replacement oil pan engineered specifically to solve the chronic rusting and corrosion failure of the OEM oil pan on 1994.5-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke trucks and vans. Every covered application - from the F-250 and F-350 pickups to the Excursion, Econoline, E-Series van, and motorhome/bus chassis - uses the same factory oil pan design that is known throughout the diesel community for premature rust-through, especially in road salt environments. Moroso developed the 27336 after hearing consistent feedback that owners were spending labor dollars every few years replacing corroded pans, and that existing solutions fell short on durability.

The solution begins with 16-gauge steel that is already thicker than the OEM stamping, followed by a meticulously engineered triple-coat finishing process. The first coat is zinc phosphate, which provides a durable base layer and critically neutralizes any residual corrosion initiated by the welding process itself - a failure point that other manufacturers overlook. The second coat is a 1-mil thick black electrocoat for consistent coverage and adhesion. The final coat is a gloss black epoxy powdercoat topcoat. This three-stage system has been validated through extensive salt spray testing and is proven to provide substantially greater corrosion resistance than the factory painted-black surface.

Installation is designed to be a straight bolt-in process using all existing factory hardware. The stock oil pump, pickup tube, and dipstick tube assembly are fully retained, and the internal OEM-style anti-slosh baffle maintains the same oil control geometry as the factory pan. A magnetic drain plug is included to capture metallic debris at every oil change. A gasket is not included - Moroso recommends their one-piece molded gasket (P/N 27293), though RTV silicone is an acceptable alternative. Hand-fabricated and finished at Moroso's facility in Guilford, Connecticut, the 27336 is built to be the last oil pan a 7.3L Powerstroke owner ever needs to buy.
