Fitment Notes

• The L231 is the extended-length version (4-3/8 in / 111mm) of the standard MOMO C231 hub (3-3/4 in / 95mm). The longer length is specifically recommended for use with flat or non-dished steering wheels to avoid clearance conflicts between the steering wheel and the dashboard on 911/930 applications.
• For dished or deep-dish steering wheels where the standard C231 hub provides adequate clearance from the dashboard, the shorter C231 may be used instead. The L231 is the preferred choice for flat/shallow-dish wheel profiles.
• For Porsche 928 S4 (1987-1991): the 928 S4 uses a different steering column configuration - verify application compatibility before ordering. The L231 is generally confirmed for 928 models up to 1988 (pre-S4 facelift).
• Be aware of the C-clip on the Porsche steering shaft - ensure it does not conflict with the end of the hub during installation.
• The turn signal cancellation and horn contact ring attachment uses self-tapping screws; verify ring contact function after installation.
• This hub is designed for aftermarket steering wheel installation only - the factory OEM steering wheel cannot be reinstalled using this hub.
• Compatible with MOMO, Sparco, OMP, and any other aftermarket steering wheel using a 6 x 70mm PCD bolt pattern. Not directly compatible with Nardi or Personal wheels (74mm PCD) without a separate PCD adapter.

The MOMO L231 is the extended-length version of MOMO's classic Porsche hub adapter, engineered for 1974-1989 Porsche 911 (all G-Model variants), 1976-1989 Porsche 930 Turbo, 1976 Porsche 912E, and 1978-1988 Porsche 928. It interfaces with the factory 40-spline Porsche steering column shaft using a bolt-on splined aluminum base, providing the correct connection point for any aftermarket steering wheel using the standard MOMO 6 x 70mm PCD 6-bolt pattern - including wheels from MOMO, Sparco, OMP, and Sabelt. No welding, drilling, or cutting is required for installation.

The key distinction between the L231 and its sibling the C231 (standard length) is hub length. The C231 measures approximately 3-3/4 inches and is suitable for dished or deep-cup steering wheels where the bowl of the wheel provides adequate distance from the dashboard. The L231 extends that length to approximately 4-3/8 inches - positioning the steering wheel further from the instrument cluster and dashboard. This makes the L231 the recommended choice when installing flat or shallow-dish aftermarket steering wheels on the 911/930, where the shorter C231 hub can result in the wheel face sitting uncomfortably close to or contacting the dash. For most Porsche 911/930 aftermarket steering wheel builds, the L231 is considered the safer and more practical hub choice regardless of wheel dish depth.

Like all MOMO hub adapters, the L231 incorporates a collapsible steel tower structure that creates a deformation zone in a frontal impact - compensating for the rigid outer rims of aftermarket steering wheels and meeting the stringent German TUV homologation standard.
