The Mishimoto MMINT-UZ is a universal air-to-air front-mount intercooler from Mishimoto's Z-Line range, designed for turbocharged and supercharged applications where a slim, compact intercooler core is needed without sacrificing heat transfer capability. The Z-Line occupies Mishimoto's entry tier in their universal intercooler lineup, offering a 2.5-inch-thick bar-and-plate core in a 28 x 7.5-inch overall form factor that fits a wide range of front bumper and chassis mounting positions. Bar-and-plate construction is the preferred core design for performance applications - the alternating bar and plate fin arrangement provides greater structural rigidity under boost pressure than tube-and-fin cores, and delivers efficient heat transfer from the compressed charge air to the ambient air flowing through the core.

The entire unit is constructed from 6061 aluminum throughout - end tanks, core, and inlet/outlet pipes - TIG-welded to ensure a leak-free assembly at the seams. The one-piece cast aluminum end tanks are a particular strength of this design: casting produces a tank with consistent wall geometry and no internal weld seams that could fatigue and leak under the cyclical pressure loading of a boost application.
