Fitment Notes

• This is a universal catch can kit. It does not include vehicle-specific hoses, quick-disconnect fittings, or a direct-mount bracket. Custom hose routing and bracket placement are required for each installation.
• For vehicles with particularly high blow-by volume - such as turbocharged, supercharged, or heavily built engines - this high-flow design is recommended over the compact baffled catch can.
• An optional Mishimoto drain kit is available separately for even easier servicing without removing the can from its mounting location.
• Mishimoto recommends checking catch can contents every 1,000 miles after installation until a baseline accumulation rate is established. Fluid must not rise above the internal baffle.
• Some adaptation may be required depending on the vehicle and installation location.

Product Description

The Mishimoto MMBCC-HF is a universal high-flow baffled oil catch can kit designed for high-output gasoline and diesel engines where standard compact catch cans struggle to keep pace with elevated crankcase blow-by volumes. As engine output increases - whether through forced induction, increased displacement, or aggressive engine builds - the volume of blow-by gases escaping past the piston rings increases proportionally. A catch can that flows too slowly creates backpressure in the crankcase, which can interfere with crankcase ventilation efficiency. The MMBCC-HF solves this with large M27 x 2.0 inlet and outlet ports on its CNC-machined lid and a 5.3 fl. oz. high-capacity body that easily accommodates the blow-by volumes produced by heavily modified or high-displacement engines.

Inside the can, a newly engineered CNC-machined baffle with an integrated polyurethane filter intercepts crankcase gases as they enter, separating harmful oil droplets, fuel vapors, and water vapor from the airstream before clean crankcase gas exits through the outlet and returns to the intake system. Unlike heated air/oil separator (AOS) systems that route collected blow-by back into the oil pan - where fuel and water dilute the oil and reduce viscosity - this catch can permanently traps everything it separates. Collected fluids accumulate in the 5.3 fl. oz. capacity base and are drained and discarded at each oil change. A 3/8-inch NPT drain plug in the bottom allows draining without removing the can from its mount, and an optional Mishimoto drain kit is available for completely tool-free servicing. Both the filter element and the can body are fully cleanable and reusable, with no consumable replacement parts required.

Because this is a universal kit, installation requires custom hose routing and bracket positioning specific to each vehicle and engine bay layout. The included powder-coated universal bracket and CNC-machined aluminum hose-barb fittings provide the hardware foundation, but the installer is responsible for sourcing hoses of appropriate length and diameter for their specific application.
