Fitment Notes

• Universal fitment. This catch can is not a direct-fit, vehicle-specific kit - the installer is responsible for routing hoses from the PCV and/or CCV ports on their specific engine to the catch can inlet and outlet. Verify that your engine's PCV or CCV hose diameter is compatible with the 5/8-inch ID hose connection provided.
• Inlet and outlet use M12 x 1.0 female threads accepting a 14mm OD fitting with a 16mm barb that fits 5/8-inch ID hose. Drain plug is M14 x 1.25.
• This is the polished natural aluminum finish. Also available in wrinkle black (MMOCC-RB) and wrinkle red. For a smaller capacity version, see MMOCC-SA (Small, 16 fl. oz.).
• This is a non-heated catch can - it permanently retains collected blow-by rather than draining it back to the oil pan. The can must be manually drained periodically through the M14 x 1.25 drain plug.

Product Description

The Mishimoto MMOCC-LA is a large-capacity universal aluminum oil catch can with a 900cc (30 fl. oz.) reservoir, designed to intercept crankcase blow-by from PCV and CCV systems before it re-enters the intake tract. On any internal combustion engine, combustion gases and oil vapor regularly pass the piston rings and enter the crankcase - the OEM PCV system routes this blow-by back into the intake manifold to be re-burned. While this meets emissions requirements, it continuously introduces oil contamination, low-octane vapor, and combustion byproducts into the intake stream. Over time this accumulation degrades intercooler efficiency, contaminates the throttle body, dirties the intake manifold, and in turbocharged applications contributes to charge coupler blowoffs where oil-soaked rubber connections lose their grip under sustained boost pressure. A catch can intercepts this blow-by before it reaches the intake, trapping the oil and vapor in a reservoir that is periodically drained and emptied.

Mishimoto's large aluminum catch can differs from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems in two key ways. First, it is not heated - AOS systems use engine coolant or heat to keep the blow-by in a vapor state so it drains back to the oil pan, which means the contamination returns to the engine. The Mishimoto catch can is unheated, so all blow-by - including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors - condenses in the can and is permanently retained, never re-entering the oil or intake system. Second, the contents of the can must be manually drained through the M14 x 1.25 drain plug at regular service intervals; the frequency will depend on engine blow-by volume. A built-in sight tube on the body of the can allows visual level checks without removal. The 3.5-inch diameter x 7-inch height form factor fits a wide range of engine bay mounting locations using the included bracket and hardware.

The polished natural aluminum finish provides a clean, high-visibility appearance. The complete kit includes a mounting bracket, 31.5 inches of hose, all clamps, fittings, and hardware required for installation.
