The Mishimoto MMTS-240-89KA is a direct-fit racing thermostat engineered for the 1989-1998 Nissan 240SX and a wide range of KA24 and SR20-powered Nissan and Infiniti models. Where the OEM thermostat waits until 169.7°F to begin opening, the Mishimoto unit opens at 154.4°F - a difference of 15.3°F that allows coolant to circulate through the engine significantly earlier in the warm-up cycle. This earlier flow keeps sustained operating temperatures lower and more consistent, which is especially important on modified KA24DE and SR20DET builds running elevated boost and higher heat loads.
