The Mishimoto MMTC-TAC-24 is a direct-fit performance transmission cooler purpose-built for the fourth-generation Toyota Tacoma (N400 chassis) powered by the 2.4L turbocharged I4. Designed for owners who tow, haul, or push their Tacoma hard on the trail, this cooler addresses a key limitation of the factory system: the stock liquid-to-liquid coolers in the radiator and fan shroud are efficient at warming the transmission fluid quickly, but their surface area is constrained under sustained high-load conditions. Adding a dedicated front-mount, air-to-fluid tube-and-fin cooler before the stock system means the fluid arrives at lower temperatures, reducing thermal stress across the entire drivetrain cooling circuit.

The 14-row tube-and-fin core features high-efficiency internal fins that pull heat from the fluid before it reaches the factory cooler, while the external fins transfer that heat to passing ambient air. Because both OEM coolers remain in operation, the system retains the factory's quick warm-up behavior in cold weather and short-trip driving - only adding capacity when temperatures climb under heavy load.
