The FL5 CTR's K20C1 turbocharged engine delivers exceptional factory performance, but under sustained high-load driving - back-to-back track laps, extended canyon runs, or hot ambient conditions - intake air temperatures climb quickly as the stock intercooler reaches its thermal limits. The compact factory intercooler is adequate for casual driving but was not sized for the repeated performance demands the Type R was designed to invite.
