The Mishimoto MMTMIC-WRX-22SL is a direct-fit top-mount intercooler engineered for the 2022-2026 Subaru WRX (VB chassis) equipped with the FA24DIT 2.4L turbocharged flat-four. The factory intercooler uses plastic end tanks that are a well-documented failure point under elevated boost, and its core volume limits cooling capacity as power levels increase. Mishimoto's replacement takes a fundamentally different approach: a bar-and-plate core that is 88% larger in volume than stock, flows 40.6% better, produces 35.7% less pressure drop, and features 76% more fin surface area - all working together to keep outlet temperatures within 10°F of ambient even under sustained hard driving.

The cast aluminum end tanks eliminate the OEM failure point entirely and are rated to 100 psi and 600 hp. The enlarged shroud is scaled to expose the full core to airflow from the WRX's signature hood scoop - a critical upgrade over the stock shroud that left portions of the OEM core outside the airflow path. A pre-drilled and plugged 1/8-NPT port on the cold-side tank allows easy addition of boost or temperature sensors without fabrication.
