Product Description

The Mishimoto MMLP-G80-21 is a front license plate relocation kit engineered specifically for the 2021+ BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4. The G8X front fascia was designed without a factory license plate provision, meaning US-market vehicles typically require drilling into the bumper or blocking the central cooling intake with a plate -- both of which compromise either the bumper's appearance or the car's thermal management. Mishimoto's solution mounts directly to the OEM front tow hook thread using an anodized 6061-aluminum shaft, requiring no drilling, no permanent modifications, and no additional hardware beyond what's included in the kit. The plate bracket is fabricated from mild steel with a powder-coated black finish and is angled to follow the natural contour of the G8X bumper, reducing wind resistance and keeping the front-end profile clean. Mounting at the tow hook location positions the plate away from the center cooling stack, restoring full airflow to the radiator. Installation requires no special tools and is rated for completion in under 15 minutes. The shaft torques to 40 lb-ft at the tow hook using an RD20 x 1/8 in. knuckle thread interface. Note: this kit does not fit the 2023+ BMW M2 (G87), confirmed by Mishimoto's own specifications. All G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 variants -- including standard, Competition, Competition xDrive, CSL, and Convertible -- are supported.
