Fitment Notes

• This is the cold-side intercooler pipe and boot kit only. The hot-side pipe and boot kit is sold separately as MMICP-DMAX-11HBK. Owners upgrading both sides simultaneously should consider the full Intercooler Pipe and Boot Kit (MMICP-DMAX-11KBK), which includes both cold-side and hot-side pipes and boots in a single purchase.
• Designed for the LML-generation 6.6L Duramax only (2011-2016). Does not fit earlier LBZ/LMM Duramax generations (2006-2010) - see MMICP-DMAX-06CBK for that application.
• Retains the factory AIT (Air Intake Temperature) sensor via the CNC-machined sensor bung - no relocation, adaptation, or additional tuning required.

Product Description

The Mishimoto MMICP-DMAX-11CBK is a direct bolt-on cold-side intercooler pipe and boot kit engineered for the 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD equipped with the 6.6L Duramax LML turbocharged diesel engine. The factory cold-side intercooler pipe on the LML Duramax is plastic - a material choice that is adequate at stock power levels but increasingly problematic as the engine ages or boost pressure rises. Plastic becomes brittle under sustained heat cycling, is susceptible to cracking at boost pressure transition points, and lacks the rigidity to maintain a consistent seal at the boot connections. The factory boots compound this problem, as rubber degrades from continuous exposure to the diesel fuel vapors, oil mist, and pressure spikes present in the charge air circuit. The result on a high-mileage or modified Duramax is often a boost leak that robs power, elevates EGTs, and can eventually cause engine damage if left unaddressed.

Mishimoto replaces the entire cold-side assembly with a 3.5-inch mandrel-bent polished aluminum pipe in a two-piece design that mirrors the factory routing for straightforward installation. Mandrel bending preserves a consistent inner diameter through every bend - unlike press bending, which creates oval cross-sections that introduce turbulence and restriction. The larger 3.5-inch diameter and smooth internal surface allow increased charge air volume to reach the throttle body with less restriction, translating to improvements in airflow, power output, and exhaust gas temperatures. A CNC-machined AIT sensor bung is integrated directly into the pipe, accepting the factory air intake temperature sensor with no modification and preserving full ECM function - no tune or recalibration is required.

The kit includes three silicone boots constructed with Mishimoto's DuraCore Technology - a proprietary synthetic material forming the innermost boot layer that provides substantially greater resistance to heat, pressure, diesel fuel vapors, and oil contamination compared to standard silicone. This eliminates the failure modes that cause conventional silicone or rubber boots to delaminate, blister, and blow off under sustained boost. Six constant-tension T-bolt clamps provide uniform clamping force at every boot connection, maintaining a consistent seal regardless of temperature and pressure cycling.
