Fitment Notes

• This is the primary degas tank only (MMRT-F2D-11PMWBK) - the secondary degas tank is sold separately as MMRT-F2D-11SMWBK; both tanks together are available as the full kit MMRT-F2D-11KMWBK
• Fits the stock radiator cap - no cap replacement required
• Important installation note: Cutting of the stock battery tray is required to remove the factory primary degas tank. If the stock battery tray cannot be reused after cutting, replacement battery trays are available from Ford: PN BC3Z8A080H (2011-2016) or HC3Z-8A080-D (2017-2019)
• Available in micro-wrinkle black (MMRT-F2D-11PMWBK) or natural uncoated aluminum (MMRT-F2D-11PN) - the natural finish is also suitable for custom powder-coating, anodizing, or hydro-dipping

Product Description

The Mishimoto MMRT-F2D-11PMWBK is a direct-fit aluminum primary degas tank for the 2011-2019 Ford 6.7L Power Stroke. The factory primary degas tank on the Super Duty is made from plastic - a material that performs adequately when the truck is new, but becomes brittle and prone to cracking and leaking after years of repeated heat cycles in a diesel engine bay. A leaking primary degas tank leads to coolant loss, air entry into the cooling system, and eventual overheating. Mishimoto replaces it with a fully-welded aluminum tank that cannot crack under thermal stress, and adds two features the factory tank lacks: an integrated sight glass for an instant visual coolant level check, and internal baffling that keeps coolant near the overflow port during rough-road and aggressive-driving conditions to prevent air from entering the system.

The tank increases primary coolant capacity by 8.8% over stock for greater thermal reserve, and fits the OEM radiator cap without modification. Note that installation requires cutting the stock battery tray to free the factory tank - if the battery tray cannot be reused, replacement trays are available from Ford dealers. The secondary degas tank is sold separately (MMRT-F2D-11SMWBK), and both tanks are available together as the full kit (MMRT-F2D-11KMWBK).
