Product Description

The McLeod 6918-07 is an RXT Street Twin clutch kit for the 2007-2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, rated to 1,000 hp and designed to remain streetable at that power level. The RXT uses two ceramic friction discs sandwiching a floater plate between a diaphragm pressure plate and the flywheel -- the twin disc setup distributes clamp load across a larger total friction surface area, allowing the clutch to handle significantly more torque than a comparable single disc unit without requiring a heavier pressure plate that would increase pedal effort. The ceramic facing delivers the slightly aggressive engagement feel typical of a performance disc while retaining a soft pedal compared to full race compounds.

The kit includes an SFI-certified 164-tooth steel flywheel sized for the GT500's 8-bolt crank pattern. The flywheel is lighter than the factory unit, reducing rotating mass for faster throttle response and quicker rev changes.
