The Manley 625EGR2-1 is a Platinum Series Extreme Duty forged piston designed for the Nissan GT-R (R35) VR38DETT 3.8L twin-turbocharged V6, sized for Grade 2 OEM cylinder bores at 95.5mm. Built from 2618 high-strength aluminum alloy - the same material used in professional racing applications - it is engineered to withstand the extreme cylinder pressures generated by high-boost VR38DETT builds well beyond the factory power output. The Extreme Duty designation indicates the use of a 9310 alloy wrist pin with a 0.210-inch wall (vs. 0.180-inch in the base Platinum Series), providing additional pin strength for the most demanding applications.

The flat top crown with -1.5cc valve reliefs maintains a 9.25:1 compression ratio at the OEM stroke, making it well-suited to forced-induction builds where compression management is critical. Moly-coated skirts reduce friction and accelerate break-in, while the offset wrist pin minimizes piston rock for quieter cold starts. The piston is compatible with +1mm oversized aftermarket valves for builds using upgraded cylinder heads.
