The Mahle VC1027-STD is a standard-size race connecting rod bearing set for Volkswagen and Audi 4-cylinder turbocharged engines including all 1.8T 20V, 2.0L TFSI EA113, 2.0L TSI EA888 Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3, as well as older 1.8L G60, 1.8L 16V, 2.0L 16V, and 1.8-2.0L 8V platforms. Manufactured by Mahle Motorsport (formerly Vandervell) in their dedicated race bearing facility in the United Kingdom, these bearings use the same specification found in Formula 1, Le Mans, NASCAR, and MotoGP race engines. The proprietary tri-metal construction provides a stiffer bearing under the high loads encountered in race and high-performance street engines, greatly reducing the chance of spinning a bearing. Each bearing is engineered using advanced software to optimize oil film thickness for maximum reliability. Laser-marked identification replaces traditional stamped marks, allowing better heat transfer from the bearing surface and eliminating disruption to the backing material for more even wear.
